We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Executive Assistant to join the Executive department of Samaritan’s Purse International (SPI) and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), supporting the Executive Director (ED) and wider Senior Management Team (SMT). The role is part time (21 hours per week) and based from our head office in Coventry.

The post holder will need to have meticulous attention to detail, be highly organised and have excellent administrative skills. A key aspect of the role is building collaborative relationships internally and externally. Proven experience working at Executive Director level is essential.

Duties will include:

• Providing full administrative and secretarial service to the ED and SMT
• Providing administrative support to the Board members of SP and BGEA
• Building of relationships both internally and externally
• Manage and maintain electronic diary accurately, liaise with the ED and SMT to input and manage appointments
• Undertake general administrative duties as requested by the ED and SMT
• Organise meetings/conferences/special events, provide agendas/directions to attendees. This to include all ED meetings and SMT strategic and tactical meetings.
• Organise travel for ED and SMT
• Organise visits by international visitors, including schedules of appointments
• Attend meetings, take notes/minutes to circulate to attendees in an accurate and timely fashion
• Daily use of Microsoft packages
• Assist the SMT with administrative tasks to aid in the efficient running of the team
• Attend SMT meetings and provide agendas, papers and notes

For over 35 years Ethical Consumer (ECRA) has been the hub of the ethical consumer movement, helping consumers to shop ethically, campaigners to challenge corporate power and businesses to improve their supply chains. Board members meet quarterly to assess and advise on the progress that ECRA is making. Meetings normally last two hours. We also hold an annual strategy session to address issues chosen by the board. Board members may attend these meetings by zoom or in person (in Manchester) at their convenience. Travel expenses can be paid. Board members are paid £125 for each meeting attended during the year.

We are looking for seven new members to join our Professional Conduct Committee and Health Committee: the positions are for three osteopaths and four non-osteopaths (lay positions). Professional Conduct Committee members also sit on the Health Committee, which considers cases where an osteopath’s health may impair their ability to practise.

You will be expected to commit no more than 20 days a year (often a few days at a time) depending on caseload, plus some extra time, for example for mandatory training, reading and appraisals. The daily attendance fee is £330 (with a further payment of £50 per day for lay members when they are sitting as a Panel Chair). We pay reasonable travel and subsistence expenses. Appointment starts on 1 April 2025 (initially for up to four years).

About the Role

Humanists International has another separate entity based in the US. This role will be a part of the UK operations team but will collaborate with the US finance team occasionally when it’s required, for example, during the audit period. Both UK and US finance teams are managed by the same Director of Finance and Operations who is based in London. 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can provide excellent finance and administrative support to the small, predominantly home-based team. We’re seeking someone who is personable, highly organised, has attention to detail and is keen to take initiative and learn new skills. Onboarding training will be provided, but we would like you to demonstrate transferable skills. 

You will work on a wide variety of tasks which will include bookkeeping and bank reconciliations, being the first point of contact for the organisation, as well as providing general administrative support to the team. You will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across a diverse international team.

This is a full-time or part-time with a minimum of 4 days/week (0.8 FTE), permanent position, which is predominantly home-based but does require the attendance of in-person events such as the General Assembly and Team Building. Board meetings normally take 3 hours and investment committee meetings take 45 minutes. These meetings are usually planned 6-8 months in advance.  TOILs will be provided when the meeting is held outside your normal working hours.

• Assisting the CEO with board papers and circulating them to board members before board meetings.

• Arranging flights and accommodations for the CEO and board members to attend in-person meetings when required.

• Arranging meetings for the CEO when required.

• Assisting staff and board members with queries on finance or administrative matters.

Essential Skills

• Accounting, finance, or economics qualification.

• A minimum of two years’ experience in bookkeeping and administration roles.

• Understanding of the expense claim process.

Detailed Responsibilities

1. Develop, manage and deliver REB’s event programme (working with MD and ED&I coordinator):

o upload event listings to website;

o prepare invitations;

o liaise with host venues;

o oversee registrations & comms;

o obtain event feedback

2. Monitor and evaluate events including reviewing feedback and attendance

3. Coordinate the CEO Breakfasts series

4. Maintain the Events page on the REB website

5. Maintain a database of venues

6. Identify, approach and secure appropriate speakers and participants for events

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

1. Events management and logistics

2. Knowledge (preferably working knowledge) of Microsoft Dynamics and Marketing

3. Knowledge (preferably working knowledge) of current best practices and trends in ED&I, including familiarity with key concepts (e.g. allyship, unconscious bias, intersectionality, etc.)

Around eight out of ten autistic adults are currently unemployed. This means that the strengths and skills of autistic people are often vastly underused, and that many autistic people face significant negative consequences of unemployment.

The Autism Centre of Excellence at Cambridge (ACE) is committed to creating 10,000 new jobs for autistic people in the next ten years and are currently seeking a lead for this work. We are looking for somebody who is motivated to improve life for autistic people and who has experience of developing and managing medium to large-scale projects.

Main duties and Responsibilities

• Implement the plan as has been specified and agreed by our Board.
• Convene and run a network of employers and members of the autism community to share and discuss good practice.
• Undertake project management across the workstream, managing and monitoring activities and outcomes.
• Identify need, find options, evaluate, enlist and manage service and contract providers; services that are introduced to the network (recruitment and HR advice, financial advice, property advice, franchising advice, pooled procurement).
• Identify funding opportunities, coordinate funding applications to secure financial backing for the services to be offered.
• Build engagement with autistic people into all aspects of the workstream.
• Support the leadership team to develop plans for improving employment for autistic people in the UK and worldwide.
• Build and maintain effective collaborative relationships with a range of partner organisations; and large employers.
• Line-manage any future staff employed in this workstream/ project.
• Create and present progress reports as required by the leadership team and board of Trustees.
• Develop and maintain an evaluation system for the whole project.
• Support the Autism Centre of Excellence to manage recruitment and retention in line with best practice.
• Sensitively manage the challenges of organisations holding themselves to account in discharging their responsibilities around employment of autistic people.
• Contribute to other team activities in line with the post-holder’s skills and commensurate with the grade, such as arranging meetings, taking notes, organising and hosting focus groups.

Benefits

Salary: Up to £50,000 FTE, dependent on skills and experience.

25 days annual leave

Hybrid working, working in Cambridge a minimum of two days a week.

The role is permanent and full-time. However, we will consider part-time applications.
